Nurman Siagian is one of our friend we spent time with while we were in Bogor. Nurman lived in Bogor for about 4 years while studying at IPB. She was a student at Agribusiness, Faculty of Agriculture, Angkatan 34.
Childhood
Born as a Bataknese girl clearly something that she never chose and she is proud of it. Coming all the way from Kisaran, Nurman continued her journey to do her tertiary education at IPB.
Character
Her commitment in doing the best on what she does was one of the distinct character she has. She was a great leader and communicator, which was proven when she led the YONM - Bogor community and also Faperta student fellowship.
Her Vision
Her journey began when she started to work for World Vision Indonesia. She was placed in Wamena, a small village in West Papua. Three years in Wamena has made a significant change of how she sees life. To witness uneducated children is the last thing she want to see in her life. She commited herself to be part of children development. Her passion and commitment to see more children to have better education in Papua has been paid off when she was granted a scholarship from Ford Foundation. She is planning to do a Master program in Child Education and Development in a Netherland's university.
